Have Some Fun & Take Your Toddler Fishing This Summer
During the summer months it can be a challenge to find involving and fun activities to do outdoors. True, many go camping, rafting and boating, but what about fishing? Have you taken your toddler fishing?
Although fishing may not come to mind when considering a "fun" action for most toddlers, once you take them, they really, absolutely enjoy themselves. Since kids love to imitate you in everything you do, either for the good or bad, why not get a toddler fishing pole and take your kid to the lake or river?
If you go down to your local store, either its a "super store," or a sports store, you are more than likely going to find an entire section devoted to fishing. Take your toddler to the fishing section and let him pick out is own fishing pole. I have to admit, even I can get a dinky excited about picking out my own pole and I am by no means a fishing nut!
There you will most-likely find fishing poles created just for the young ones. I strongly suggest purchasing one setup without a real hook on it! You can absolutely find a pole that comes with a small rubber attachment to go on the end of the line. This is great because you can take your toddler fishing with you and not worry about them catching your ear, their finger, their siblings toe, well you get the idea.
As they get older, they do begin to pick up on the fact that something is a dinky off. Yes, the time will come when they ask for your pole. Hopefully, after a dinky custom using their toddler fishing pole, they will be competent enough for you to gradually introduce "real" fishing to them.
In the meantime though, do not shy away from heading to the river or lake. Get out and enjoy the sun!
